We’re excited to announce the arrival of our first calf of 2025! Born on March 2nd, this beautiful black Angus heifer is the product of 78L Rough Rider and Craftsman, and she’s already showing great promise.

78L has proven herself once again as an excellent mother, delivering this 68-pound calf unassisted and taking exceptional care of her from the start. It’s always a relief to see a smooth calving, and even more rewarding when the calf is up and nursing without any issues. From the moment she stood, she has been drinking well and appears to be in excellent health.

Last night’s 12-degree temperatures tested both mother and calf, but they pulled through like champs. Despite the cold, they stayed warm and comfortable, a testament to good genetics and proper care.

As the first calf of the year, she marks the beginning of what we hope will be another successful calving season. With her strong build, healthy start, and great maternal lineage, we’re eager to see how she develops in the coming months.
