Rating: 4.3
When you think Buffalo Wild Wings, you probably picture crispy chicken wings, not burgers. That’s why I approached the Bacon Patty Melt with managed expectations, and it delivered just about what I expected: slightly below average but acceptable for a chain wing joint.
The Highlights:
- Caramelized onions: A solid effort here, adding a decent touch of sweetness.
- Toasted brioche toast: Nicely done and provides a good base for the melt.
- Cheese combo (American & Swiss): A little on the greasy side but the flavors worked well together.
However, there was a strange caramelized taste that would occasionally pop up, which lowered my rating. It was a little off-putting and distracted from the overall flavor of the sandwich.
Overall Experience:
It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. I’d say it was “alright.” If you’re at Buffalo Wild Wings, sticking to the wings might be a safer bet. This burger was exactly what I expected from a place known for chicken. Solid components like the bacon and onions couldn’t quite lift it above mediocrity.
